This weekend Bumps n Baby introduces you to an easy peasy recipe : Tomato Soup for babies and kids.
In the daycarebag for Anshika, a must have item is mixed vegetable soup . If there are no veggies to make it , I opt for this simple and yummy soup.

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which helps our skin against UV rays and antioxidants. The lycopene is released from tomatoes , when sautéed in butter or any other oil. Here I have used butter instead of oil. Lets jump to the recipe , shall we ?
Things Required
- Tomato – 4
- Salt – a pinch (optional)
- Butter – 1/2 tsp.
- Water – 1/2 cup
How to Prepare Tomato Soup
- Wash and clean the tomatoes
- Deseed and chop into large pieces
- Throw the tomato pieces along with the water and let it boil with lid closed till the tomatoes are cooked
- Peel the tomatoes off its skin
- Puree the tomato with a little water
- Add butter to a hot pan
- Add the puree to it and let it simmer for 1 minute or so
- Salt can be added if required . Note butter has salt in it already 🙂
Yummy , comfortable, and hearty tomato soup is ready to be served :):)

Hi Sangeetha, what is the recommended age for the tomato soup to be introduced ? My little one is 10 months old and having lactose intolerance. Could this be a reason of acidity with tomato ?
