Dates and Sesame Laddu for toddlers

Serves: 10 laddus
  • White Sesame Seeds - ½ Cup
  • Roasted gram or chana dal – ½ cup
  • Chopped Dates - ¾ Cup
  • Dessicated or grated dry coconut - ½ Cup
  • Ghee - ½ cup
  1. Remove the seeds from the dates & chop them
  2. Dry roast the sesame seeds and roasted gram/ chana dal on medium heat for 2-3 minutes in a thick pan. Keep aside to cool off
  3. Grind the roasted sesame and gram dal mixture for 5 -6 seconds to get a lightly crushed mixture/ powder
  4. Grind the dates and add the same to the mixture
  5. Add the dessicated coconut to the same along with melted ghee (1/4 cup). Mix & knead well to combine everything
  6. Keep mixing for approximately 2 minutes till you are able to make a laddu out of the mixture. In case the mixture is dry, add little more ghee. The quantity of ghee required depends on the amount of moisture in dates. So add the ghee only if needed.
  7. Take small amount of mixture in your hand and roll it out in the form of a ball /laddu
