Crispy No Bake Oats and Sesame Bar Recipe for Kids

  • Sesame seeds or til - ½ cup
  • Oats - ½ cup
  • Sugar or shakkar - 1 cup
  • Pistachio or pista – 10 to 15
  • Clarified butter or ghee – 3 tablespoon
  1. Grease a board or plate with some ghee to set the chikki/bars.
  2. Dry roast the sesame seeds on medium heat for 2-3 minutes in a thick pan/kadai. Transfer the roasted sesame seeds into a bowl.
  3. In the same pan / kadai, add 1 tablespoon of ghee and roast the oats for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the kadai and add it in a bowl.
  4. Add ½ tablespoon of ghee to kadai and add the sliced pistachios and roast them for a few seconds. Transfer the roasted pistachios into a bowl.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of ghee into kadai and add the sugar on the medium heat. Keep stirring till the sugar melts completely. Once the sugar is melted completely, the syrup is ready.
  6. Add in the oats, sesame and pistachio to the syrup and mix well.
  7. Transfer the mixture onto a greased surface.
  8. Bring the mixture together using a spoon / spatula and roll it out using a greased belan / rolling pin. Thickness of the bars can be around 8-10 mm.
  9. Make cuts using a sharp knife / pizza cutter (in any desired shape) . Wait for a few minutes for the chikki to cool down and then separate the pieces. Yummy winter delights are ready to be enjoyed.
