Ingredients
  • Water chestnut flour or singhade ka atta – 1 cup
  • Ghee or clarified butter – ⅓ cup
  • Sugar – ½ Cup
  • Water – 1 Cup
  • Cardamom Powder / elaichi – 1 pinch (I have used one elaichi for the same)
  • Nut Mix – 3 to 4 tsp (cashewnuts and almonds coarsely powdered)
Instructions
  1. In a heavy bottomed pan or kadai, heat the ghee on a medium flame until it melts and is slightly hot
  2. Add in the flour and roast on low heat until the flour turn light brown color. This will take approximately 7 to 8 minutes. Do keep stirring the mix continuously to avoid forming the lumps.
  3. Add Nut mix and cook for a few seconds.
  4. Now it is the time to add the water and sugar to the flour. Stir well
  5. Add in the cardamom powder. Cook the halwa for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Halwa is ready. Add a generous sprinkling of nut mix and serve
