Homemade Kiwi Fruit Jam

  • Kiwi fruit - ½ cup peeled and chopped
  • Sugar - ⅓ cup
  • Lemon juice -1 teaspoon
  1. In a kadai/heavy bottom pan, add the chopped fruit, sugar and lemon juice and mix them well
  2. Keep the pan on the stove and cook the mix on a medium low flame. Do keep stirring so as to avoid the sticking of fruit on the walls of pan. The sugar will start dissolving and kiwis will start getting jelly like.
  3. After approximately 10-12 minutes of stirring, check whether the mixture has started to leave the sides of the pan. If yes, the jam is cooked. To confirm, take a plate/saucer and put a drop of jam on it. Tilt the plate, and see if the jam is set. If not, let it boil for another minute, then test again until set.
  4. Turn off heat and allow the mix to cool.
  5. Once the jam is cool, add it to an airtight glass bottle/sterilized can and store.
